Participation in a Research Study

Clinical research is done only when there is reason to believe that an investigational treatment may be of value to future patients. The information obtained through studies may lead to therapies. Even when a clinical study does not lead to a treatment the knowledge gained may be useful to scientists in the future. Participation in research studies contributes to progress in medical research.
